Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Saudi Arabia on 13-15 October 2019 has put space cooperation between the two countries back in the spotlight following the landmark Saudi-Russian space cooperation agreement signed in October 2017.

Arianespace played a significant role in improving global connectivity with its 27 February 2019 Soyuz launch that deployed the initial six satellites in OneWeb’s constellation – which will provide affordable high-speed internet access for users around the world.

Arianespace has successfully orbited two telecommunications satellites: the Saudi Geostationary Satellite 1/Hellas Sat 4 condosat for operators King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Hellas Sat; and GSAT-31 for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
