Thuraya partners with Elcome International for Egypt and GCC support

Thuraya Telecommunications Company, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, announced on 3 May 2016 an agreement with Elcome International, also based in Dubai, UAE, for provide technical support to Thuraya’s service partners in Egypt and throughout Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The agreement with Elcome International allows faster response times to requests made by Thuraya service partners needing maintenance work, fault rectifications, and the installation of Thuraya maritime equipment.

Thuraya recently launched its Atlas IP terminal that provides ship crews and onshore maritime managers reliable access to the Internet, enhanced connectivity, and high-speed data rates.

Keith Murray, Product Manager, Maritime, Thuraya, said: “This agreement with Elcome is a welcome opportunity to increase our support to our valued service partners across the GCC and Egypt. Our expanding maritime portfolio requires support whenever and wherever a vessel needs it.  Our maintenance partner will store spare Thuraya equipment for vessels in locations that are difficult for our partners to reach. In the long-run, this new agreement will save our partners time and money.”
