Quantis to enable schools in Morocco

Telecommunications services provider Quantis is working to connect 4,000 schools in Morocco. The company, which provides Internet, voice, data and satellite TV services, signed a deal this September with satellite equipment manufacturer Newtec for the Dialog multiservice platform. The Dialog hub will complement Quantis’ existing satellite infrastructure and enable Nortis, the company’s subsidiary based in Morocco, to deliver satellite broadband services.

Nortis was awarded this contract by the Morocco Ministry of Education as part of the GENIE project. The service will provide Internet access for students, while teachers will be able to provide courses through distance learning.

Orbex Secures Patent for ‘Petal Fold’ Reusable Rocket Technology

Orbex has successfully patented its REFLIGHT reusable rocket technology following patent approval in several European markets, based on the patent grant by the European Patent Office, as well as in the United States. The technology works well with micro-launcher rockets like Orbex’s Prime rocket since it enables recovery of the launch vehicle by repurposing existing structural features while adding very little additional weight to the vehicle. It thereby enables reusability with very limited overall performance penalty and no additional rocket propulsion emissions in the upper atmosphere during re-entry.
