LeoSat Enterprises, which is launching a constellation of up to 108 low-earth-orbit communications satellites, has entered into a strategic agreement with the Globalsat Group, the leading Pan-American satellite services provider, to market the fastest, most secure and widest coverage HTS data network in the world.

The Globalsat Group is an award-winning industry leader delivering mission-critical, voice, data and M2M/IoT solutions. Through this agreement, LeoSat will provide the Globalsat Group with access to infrastructure for the Globalsat LEO Network, based on a high performance architecture pairing the speed of fiber with the ubiquity of satellite, and the Globalsat Group will provide LeoSat with access to the Americas market, leveraging its extensive presence and experience.

LeoSat’s new system of low earth orbit communications satellites can deliver lower latency and stronger end-to-end security compared to traditional satellite and terrestrial solutions used today. This is achieved through a unique architecture utilizing inter-satellite laser links, creating an optical backbone in space with fiber-like symmetry at gigabit per second speeds. It also provides unprecedented security as the data is encrypted from end-to-end across the network, with no terrestrial touch points.

LeoSat’s SVP Sales, Americas, Michael Abad-Santos, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Globalsat Group, an established and highly respected provider of mobile communications services throughout the entire American continent. The consortium’s breadth of services across Government, Enterprise and Maritime markets in the Americas make Globalsat an ideal launch partner for LeoSat. In an increasingly connected world, both of our companies see the importance of providing access to reliable high-speed, low-latency data and voice communications anywhere on the globe. The LeoSat constellation offers a completely new dimension in terms of connectivity and we are already seeing a high level of interest from a number of key markets such as, finance, government and energy”.

Alberto Palacios, CEO of Globalsat added: “By combining Globalsat Group’s 17 years of industry experience and market access with LeoSat’s innovative infrastructure, customers will use a game-changing service which redefines satellite connectivity in terms of capacity, latency, security, efficiency and coverage. This is possible through a system design combining proven and cutting edge technologies, leaps ahead of projects which look more like science fiction. We are thrilled to be part of one of the most important and promising upcoming satellite constellations in sight today”.

Mr. Palacios will hold a seat in representation of the Globalsat Group on the LeoSat Customer Technical Advisory Committee (CTAC). The committee will advise on system configuration, product design and launch of LeoSat’s upcoming satellite constellation.

LeoSat is currently working with Thales Alenia Space, a company with unmatched expertise in designing and manufacturing LEO satellites, to finalize the manufacturing plan, paving the way for the production and deployment of the entire constellation.
