Kuwait and India sign space cooperation agreement

Indian Space Research Organisation`s crew module, which was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh in 2014.

The Department of Space/Indian Space Research Organisation (DOS/ISRO) and the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

This MOU will enable the pursuit of potential areas of interest in both cooperative and commercial modes, including the use of data from Indian remote sensing satellites by KISR for initiating research and application projects, training, and the building and launching of remote sensing and communication satellites on commercial terms.

Additionally, this MOU will enable the formation of a joint working group, drawing its members from both ISRO and KISR, to further develop means of implementing this MOU and to develop research activities and applications in such fields as remote sensing, satellite communication, satellite navigation, space science and outer space exploration.
